Pengpu, a company whose full name is the Shanghai Pengpu Machine Building Plant Co. Ltd, is a State Owned Enterprise whose manufacturing history goes back to the 1950s. It was one of the first manufacturers of crawler dozers in China, and having undergone several ownership changes over the years. It is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC).
