JCB India is one of the best-known names in the Indian construction equipment industry. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of J.C. Bamford Excavators Limited (UK), which is the world’s largest producer of backhoe loaders, and in volume terms is the third largest manufacturer of earthmoving and construction equipment.

The company is best known for its backhoe loaders, although its product range has become more diversified over the last decade, and new products have regularly been introduced in the market. The rapid growth of the Indian backhoe loader market has made it the leading domestic construction equipment manufacturer, with nearly every second machine produced in the country being sourced from one of its plants. It has the rare distinction of having supplied over 250,000 machines to the domestic market.
