This is Off-Highway Research’s first profile of LeeBoy India Construction Equipment (P) Ltd (LeeBoy), a wholly owned subsidiary of ST Kinetics which is a part of the Singapore-based ST Engineering Group, an integrated engineering entity which provides solutions and services in the aerospace, electronics, land systems and marine sectors. LeeBoy, one of the most recent entrants in the domestic construction equipment market, was incorporated in 2010 and started selling imported motor graders in 2011. The company established a manufacturing facility in Bengaluru in 2012 and currently produces a wide range of construction equipment. In addition to meeting local demand, it also exports to neighbouring countries in South East Asia, Africa and the Middle East, and is also responsible for the business development activities in these regions.

This report briefly talks about LeeBoy’s parent company’s global history and activities, but mainly concentrates on its domestic operations. The company’s financial year starts on 1st April and ends on 31st March of the following year. All references to the financial data of specific years in this report therefore refer to the financial year in which it starts. For example, 2014 corresponds to the period 1st April 2014 to 31st March 2015. However, unless specified, all sales and production data given in this report is for calendar years.
