This is an update of the profile of Hyundai Construction Equipment India (Hyundai India) last published by Off-Highway Research in July 2010. Hyundai started selling its products in India in 1996 when Voltas was appointed distributor by Hyundai Heavy Industry Korea, the erstwhile parent company of Hyundai India. In 2007 the company formally established its manufacturing unit in India.  

The company is a well-known manufacturer of mini, construction and mining excavators. It also manufactures wheeled loaders, forklift trucks, warehouse equipment and attachments. Headquartered at Pune in west India, the company has been particularly strong in the 18-25 tonne excavator segment, but has expanded its range to include lower as well as higher tonnage categories in the last few years.
