This report examines in detail the Indian market for asphalt pavers and is an update of the Off-Highway Research study that was last published in May 2021. The report covers both wheeled and tracked (crawler) machines and includes mechanical pavers.

There were many small local manufacturers of asphalt pavers, and together they had significant sales volume. However, after the implementation of CEV Stage-IV emission standards, many of them were unable to manufacture machines according to the current regulation. Therefore, the sales volumes of some manufacturers dropped significantly in 2022.

The findings presented are based on Off-Highway Research’s database, and information collected through a series of in-depth interviews conducted with the industry’s leading manufacturers and suppliers in March and April 2023.
