The report examines in detail the Italian market for wheeled loaders and is an update of the subject which was last covered in Off-Highway Research’s European Service in December 2020.

The wheeled loaders concerned are 4-wheel drive articulated machines, powered by diesel engines with ratings from around 40 to more than 1,500 horsepower. The report does not cover backhoe loaders, although several suppliers offer them without the backhoe for use as a loader, skid-steer loaders or rear wheeled drive loaders based on agricultural tractors. Nor does it cover the typically very lowpowered utility type machines provided by manufacturers such as Avant and domestic suppliers Multione and Neomach. It does, however, include the small number of telescopic articulated wheeled loaders, a relatively recent addition to the range of models available.

The findings presented in this report are based on Off-Highway Research’s International Database and on information collected during an extensive interview programme undertaken in mid-2024, which included all leading manufacturers, importers and distributors
