Case New Holland Construction Equipment India Pvt Ltd (Case India) is best known for its backhoe loaders, compaction equipment, crawler dozers, motor graders and skid-steer loaders, although the product range of its parent company is even more diversified. The rapid growth of the road sector in the country has contributed significantly towards the company’s growth and has made it a leading construction equipment manufacturer in product segments such as compactors.
Earlier known as L&T-CASE Equipment Private Limited (L&T-Case), the company was a 50:50 joint venture between Larsen &Toubro Limited (L&T) and CNH Global NV. However, in 2012, L&T sold its entire stake to CNH Global which owned Case brand of construction equipment. CNH Global acquired Fiat Industrial and formed a new company called CNH Industrial in 2013. Case New Holland Construction Equipment Pvt Ltd is now owned by CNH Industrial.
The company’s financial year starts on the 1st January and ends on 31st December of the same year. All references to the financial data of specific calendar years in this report therefore refer to the calendar year only. All data related to sales and production of equipment is also shown for calendar years and matches the fiscal year of CNH Global, which ends on 31st December.
This is an update of the earlier report published in December 2011 by Off-Highway Research, and its purpose is to highlight the company's growth, and to offer an appraisal of the likely fortunes that it might face in the medium term.
