This report examines in detail the Indian market for self-propelled compaction equipment, and is an update of the study last undertaken by Off-Highway Research in October 2021.

It does not cover the markets for small handheld rammers, plate compactors or walk-behind rollers, but only the market for ride on, self-propelled compaction equipment.

The report assesses the current trends in the market, examines the operations of the main suppliers, and forecasts likely developments over the next five years. The period under review is from 2017 to 2021, with a forecast offered for the period 2022- 2026.

There are some small manufacturers of compaction equipment (mainly static rollers), which produce machines only after an order has been received. The estimated sales and production of such manufacturers have been included as “others” in the relevant tables.

The findings in this report are based on Off-Highway Research’s database and information collected during an interview programme undertaken in August and September 2022, which included all the leading manufacturers and suppliers.
