Sany Heavy Industry India Pvt Ltd (Sany India) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sany Heavy Industry Co Ltd (Sany Heavy Industry) which has its global headquarters in Beijing along with the Sany Global (Sany) headquarters. The Group owns two public companies, Sany Heavy Industry Company Ltd, listed in Shanghai and Sany Heavy Equipment International Holding Company Ltd, which is listed in Hong Kong. Apart from the Chinese head office, the group has 25 manufacturing facilities, four research and development centres, and more than 100 offices which sell Sany products in more than 150 countries worldwide.

The group’s major product lines include concrete machinery, road construction machinery, crawler excavators, piling rigs, mobile cranes, port machinery, wind turbines, petroleum drilling machinery, off-highway trucks, firefighting machinery, and mining machinery. Sany Heavy Industry’s business encompasses most of the construction equipment product lines, whereas Sany heavy equipment focuses on the production of opencast mining equipment.

The group has grown into a global corporation in a short time, and has more than 10 large industrial parks in China, along with manufacturing, and research and development bases in America, Germany, India, Brazil, and Indonesia. As per 2020 data, Sany has more than 63,000 employees, globally including more than 1,000 employees in its Indian subsidiary.

This is an update of the Sany India profile published by Off-Highway Research in August 2014. The purpose of this study is to present an overview of the company’s operations in the country.
