This is an update of profile of CNH Industrial (India) Private Limited (referred to as CNHI (India) in this report) last published by Off-Highway Research in November 2014. The company was then known as New Holland Fiat India Private Limited (NHFI). CNHI (India) is one of the major domestic suppliers of agricultural tractors, harvesting, hay and forage equipment.  

CNHI (India) is a subsidiary of CNH Industrial (CNHI), which is currently engaged in the design, production, marketing, sale and financing of agricultural and construction equipment. Until 31st December 2021, CNH Industrial NV owned and controlled the off-highway and on-highway businesses but effective 1st January 2022, the Iveco Group business was separated from CNH Industrial NV. Before the demerger, CNHI was also engaged in design, production, marketing, sale and financing of trucks, commercial vehicles, buses and specialty vehicles for firefighting, defence and other uses, as well as engines, transmissions and axles for those vehicles, and engines for marine and power generation applications, which are now part of the Iveco Group business.  

CNHI has two agricultural brands, New Holland Agriculture and Case IH Agriculture, which market their products as New Holland and Case IH in the country. 

This report mainly concentrates on New Holland Agriculture’s operations in India and focuses on those agricultural tractors manufactured and sold by CNHI (India). The profile of associate company of CNHI (India), Case New Holland Construction Equipment (India) Private Limited, which focuses on the manufacturing and sales of construction equipment, was last published by Off-Highway Research in December 2020 and is not covered in this report.
