This report examines in detail the Indian market for asphalt pavers and is an update of Off-Highway Research’s study on the subject that was last published in May 2023. The report covers both wheeled and tracked (crawler) machines and includes mechanical pavers.

There were many small local manufacturers of asphalt pavers, and togetherthey had significant sales volume. However, after the implementation of CEV Stage-IV emission standards from April 2021, many of them were unable to manufacture machines complying with the new regulations. Emission norms were further upgraded to CEV Stage-V from 1st January 2025. As a result, sales volumes of smaller manufacturers dropped significantly after 2022.

The findings presented in this report are based on Off-Highway Research’s database, and information collected through a series of in-depth interviews conducted with the industry’s leading manufacturers and suppliers in May and June 2025
