This is Off-Highway Research’s first profile of Ammann India Private Limited (Ammann India), which is a subsidiary of Ammann Group, headquartered in Langenthal, Switzerland. Ammann is a sixth generation, family-owned business that produces asphalt and concrete mixing plants, compactors, and asphalt finishers at nine production sites in Europe, China, India, and Brazil. Its core expertise is roadbuilding and transportation infrastructure.

Ammann India, headquartered in Mehsana near Ahmedabad in Gujarat, has been the market leader and largest manufacturer of asphalt finishers in the country. The company also manufactures and markets compaction equipment, and asphalt and concrete plants.

Ammann Group entered the Indian road equipment manufacturing through a joint venture in 2013 with a local partner, Gujarat Apollo Industries Limited (GAIL), and later wholly acquired the Indian subsidiary. This report focuses on Ammann India, but historical references of GAIL may be found in the relevant sections of the report.

The report primarily covers asphalt finishers and compaction equipment manufactured and sold by Ammann India, while asphalt and concrete plants and other products and services are beyond the scope of this study.
